CAR park users at East Coast’s Doncaster station are being offered a reduced parking rate in a special promotion.
The promotion runs until 26 February and sees the price of long-stay parking in the multi-storey car park cut from £10.50 to £8.
At the weekends, the daily parking rate in the multi-storey car park and on the forecourt and executive parking is being cut from £5 to £4.
The hourly weekday rate after 09.00 in the multi-storey car park will remain at £1.20.
East Coast Commercial Director Peter Williams said: “This promotion is good news for rail travellers who use the car park and highlights that the station has plenty of parking as well as easy access, regular services and fast trains.”
The car park offer follows two discount fare promotions for travel on East Coast’s frequent services between Doncaster and London King’s Cross.
The train operator is offering a 20 per cent discount on its lowest advance booked fare between Doncaster and the capital – cutting the cheapest Standard Advance one-way fare from £9.50 to just £7.60.
For those who need to turn up and go, East Coast is also offering a 17 per cent reduction on the Standard Off-Peak return, available on East Coast trains arriving in London at 10.05 or later, Monday to Friday, and anytime at weekends. The promotion sees this fare from Doncaster cut from £71.50 to £59.50.
Both offers continue until 15 March 2011.
Notes to Editors
Doncaster station has recently been re-awarded Secure Stations status along with the 11 other stations managed by East Coast.
The scheme, which is run jointly by the Department for Transport and the British Transport Police encourages rail firms to improve security at their managed stations and demonstrate measures to reduce crime.
