| | Vanessa Unwin - Internal Communications Business Partner. An award-winning communications professional, Vanessa Unwin has been with East Coast since 2009. She specialises in events, campaign management and communications planning. Her previous rail sector roles in communications were at Network Rail and First Engineering and she also has finance sector experience in the communications team at Aviva.

 | | John Gelson – Senior Media Manager. A Sony award-winning journalist, John has extensive experience in print and journalism in the North East of England. John joined the railway in 2004 from BBC Radio Cleveland (now BBC Tees), where he was producer, presenter and news editor. John’s previous roles include news producing at BBC Radio Newcastle, and sub-editing and reporting on the Sunderland Echo and Hartlepool Mail newspapers. John works with television and radio programme makers, newspaper journalists and the railway trade media to promote travel by train with East Coast. |

Before joining the rail industry he held a similar role at retailer Asda. A politics graduate from the University of Leeds, Mark has also worked in the UK Parliament and US Congress. |

 | | Nick Wood - Social Media Manager. Nick has 12 years’ PR and communications experience in both agency and in-house roles. He has worked for a number of companies in the sport, leisure, travel and tourism sectors, including the likes of The FA, Carlsberg/Tetley, Jet2.com and Welcome to Yorkshire. At East Coast Nick is responsible for the management of the Company’s social media activities and also been involved with consumer PR and stakeholder relations campaigns within his role in the press office. |

On moving to the United Kingdom in 2000, Amanda continued to write, edit and work on both collaborations and independent projects. She joined the East Coast Mainline in 2001 and gained experience in most areas of the business with a strong background in customer services and over seven years experience working in customer relations. |

| | Hannah Tabassum- Social Media Project Leader. Hannah has been with East Coast since 2008. Her previous roles in the railway have been in operational management on stations and onboard. She is currently on secondment helping to develop social media and focusing on the growth of Twitter. Hannah manages the Twitter Champions on a daily basis. She also has operational management experience in coaches and buses. |
